Palau National Scholarship Board (PNSB) awarded the Masami Siksei Memorial Scholarship (MSMS) to Ms. Yuri Hosei for this school year 2026-2027. The late Mr. Masami Siksei was a strong advocate for education, and his family has established this scholarship as a tribute to him. The recipient of this scholarship must major in a preferred field of study as identified by the donor, must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, and be actively involved in the school and the community and other extracurricular activities. Ms. Hosei is a junior at Sophia University in Japan majoring in education. Currently, she is in Palau completing her PNSB summer internship under the Senate Education Committee of the 12th OEK.
The Scholarship Board selected Ms. Hosei based on her strong and well-written essay, her extracurricular activities both on the campus and in the community, her outstanding academic record, and her field of study. Ms. Hosei accepted her award, a check for $5,000.00, from the donor, Ambassador Ilan Seid, and her mother, Mrs. Sophia Seid. PNSB Chairperson Joseph Anastacio witnessed the proud moment. This is the 10th year of this scholarship.
