For the first time, the Palau National Scholarship Board (PNSB) helped administer the Ngeremlengui State Scholarship (NSS) by reviewing the applications and selecting the applicant that met all the requirements.  PNSB awarded Mr. James C W Remengesau who is a graduate from Mindszenty  High School.  Remengesau will be pursuing his studies at the University of Hawaii – Hilo majoring in biology.  To be a recipient of NSS, a student must be a citizen of Ngeremlengui with one or both of his parents as a registered voter of Ngeremlengui, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and be accepted to a post-secondary institution.  PNSB Treasurer Raynold Mechol and NSG Representatives were present to award the scholarship check in the amount of $1,000.00.  They congratulated Mr. James Remengesau and encourage all upcoming high school seniors who are from Ngeremlengui State to consider applying for the Ngeremlengui State Scholarship next year.  PNSB Treasurer Raynold Mechol on behalf of the PNSB encourages all other local state governments to establish their respective scholarship programs as a way of supporting higher education for their youth.  At the same time, Palauan students should take advantage of these many scholarship opportunities so that they can one day return to the Republic of Palau and contribute to nation building.
